Synopsis of Workshop #LWP-2623 “Media Coaching”

Anyone who has to work with the media, whether it's a print reporter, radio announcer or television interviewer, will want to know the best methods to ensure clear, concise, correct communication. This session covers the essential elements of crafting and delivering effective and powerful media messages.  Brainstorming exercises and small group interactive activities combined with communication theory will help participants handle general interview situations and work with different types of media. The session also includes the opportunity for participants to role-play interviews before the group.

√What the media want and need and how they get it.

√Proven techniques for effective interviewing, creating positive media relationships, and responding proactively, even in hostile situations.

√How to design effective news releases.

√Preparation strategies for all media interviews.

√Strategies to handle the rude or difficult interviewer.
